[Bernadene] She Spoke 2014 Festival to encourage more women to ride bikes.
In Bernadene Voss, Councillors PostsEvents and workshops cover activities for beginner to experienced riders with topics ranging from confidence building tips for riding in traffic to “heels on wheels” advice for those cycling to work.
Girls and boys are welcome to join children’s and family activities including a bike decorating workshop and bike training.
She Spoke will be launched on Sunday 2 March at the annual Pushy Women South Speaking event.
Headed by comedy writer and stand-up comedian Catherine Deveny, Pushy Women features eight of Melbourne’s funniest, fittest and fiercest women sharing their experiences on two wheels. Pushy Women Tracy Harvey and Charlie Farren will also host fabulously funny bike riding excursions on Sunday 23 March and Sunday 6 April respectively.
She Spoke has been designed to celebrate, inspire, entertain and empower women. It’s about having fun, making connections with other women, learning new skills and trying something participants may not have tried before, or for a long time, in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.
She Spoke will run from Sunday 2 March until Sunday 5 May.
